In her four months living with my brother and me, Windy, our smallest creature, has a record of breaking four plates, three cups, two stem cups, two beautiful ceramics bowls, one regular glass bowl, two bottles of expensive vinegar, one large coffee cup; she has also ripped off every part of two remote controls, pulled up my cell phone lid and hid it in some black hole; smashed my brother's wireless phone.Windy is also responsible for disappearing a pile of pens and pencils taken from tables and open drawers, and nobody can find them. She shredded a few toilet paper rolls, and also a couple of paper towel rolls. Her doing on the lower terrace screens trying to go out to the patio. It cost us $600 to replace the screens with impenetrable plexiglass.
Windy's escape games got me to fall from a tree on my back that could have killed me while I tried to pick her up from there. She has made me run around in the block after her until both us ended panting and with shortness of breath. Precocious female kitten, she haunted us for one week when she fell in heat, meowing with pitiful laments. We wanted to wait until she was over, but we hadt to take her to the vet feeling sorry for her. He presented a $400 bill for spaying, medications, etc.
Why do you put up with that cat? said a friend. Has she cast a spell on you? She is runty, skinny, she looks like a Cheetah with thin up front, small headed, long legs and tail. She is not as pretty as your other cats.
Why do we put up with Windy?
Because for us, when she jumps on our chest, look at us with those tiny, bright eyes, so fragile despite her energy, so much part of us, and places her tiny paws on our cheeks with such a tender touch, so careful not to pull out her nails and scratch us, and then hugs our necks, placing her tiny head on it and starts purring, there is no money on this earth that could buy "that cat" from us.
And there she is, right now, on top of the TV set throwing a couple of DVDs to the floor. Then she looks at me and my heart feels warm. How can I help not loving Windy, that cat, she is an Angel in the body of a small demon.
