You will recall from previous postings that Gizzi is a young marmalade cat with six toes on each paw. Two weeks ago, he was living a life of gay abandon, destroying my house a little bit every day, and attacking my girls whenever he could! That has all changed! His favorite targets were, in order of preference, Baby (short haired muted Calico and The Cat in Charge) and Bon Bon (short haired Torti). He chased the other two (Precious and Creampuff) occasionally, but without the enthusiasm he put into chasing Baby and Bon Bon.
He liked to hide in the office/cat bathroom until one of the girls came walking down the hallway. Seems like the girls never caught on. It always ended the same way -- terrible fight noises with each of them BAP! BAPing the other until the girls gave in and ran from him.
Baby has always been my most aggressive cat, and I didn't like seeing her intimidated. I didn't want to see her lose her offensive" edge! But I needn't have worried!
Baby took it as long as she could, then a few days ago she lit into him like a little harridan. She didn't stop until she had him cringing and cowering, on his side, with his ears laid back. He was growling and roaring, but his heart wasn't in it. He just wanted to get away in one piece!
And if that wasn't enough, yesterday Bon Bon turned on him! She was sleeping peacefully on the couch when he walked by and decided to have a bit of fun. He leapt up on her and, instead of running away, Bon Bon let him have it! (Bon Bon is bigger than Gizzi, and I imagine she hits harder!) He was completely bewildered. This wasn't the way it was supposed to happen! He tried a little growling, but that didn't work, either, so he "turned tail" and ran away!
Some of the "bravado" has run out of Gizzi. He is spending a lot of time sitting in high places, meditating and trying to puzzle out what just happened to him. It should be interesting to see what he will do!
In the meantime, Baby is strutting through the house, just hoping he tries something. Bon Bon doesn't care. She has gone back to sleep!
