Today is Sunday and our visitor was getting the works from Bonnie & Clyde. He suffers from sensitive skin and is prone to skin infections from the slightest scratch. The kittens wouldn't leave him alone and sped up his back and legs leaving holes all the way. Finally, we shut them out of the room.I had put the washing out on the clothes line. (Yes, we do that in New Zealand even though we have clothes dryers.) Later I went out to get the washing and Bonnie & Clyde shot out the door with me.
There was a roaring gale. Trees were bending to the ground and it sounded like the end of the world. The kittens made it to the middle of the patio and then - stopped. They were terrified. Their eyes bulged and they tried to run back into the house. But, ha ha, the door had slammed shut behind them. There they were, two terrified kittens, wanting to get back inside!!!
I know I should have been sympathetic to innocent little kittens - they are so sweet and helpless, right. But I made them wait until I gathered all the clothes up before I strolled to the back door and let them in. Oh, ho ho, you should have seen them streak back into the submarine. I know, I know, someone will tell me I was being cruel!! But what about kittens being cruel to me? I am still covered in holes...
I believe rain is forecast for tomorrow. I just can't wait to let them out.
