I think Patty just realized why I discourage feeding the critters at the table.Sasha is really bad about mooching. She'll beg and whine and s-t-r-e-t-c-h a paw out for goodies off Patty's plate but not mine. Maccabee does the same thing from the floor.
Well, tonight at supper Patty wasn't in the mood for sharing. She was eating tacos, and the two little shnorrers were driving her nuts. But finally she relented and leaned over to give Mac a nibble. While Patty was occupied with the mutt, Sasha ran across the table and snatched half a taco out of her hand and kept going, leaving a trail of food across the carpet, down the hall, and into the far bedroom. She didn't come out until she'd eaten it all.
Patty just sat and stared at the hallway with a thunderstruck look on her face.
A few minutes later Sasha came back into the room and took her usual spot on the piano, right at Patty's elbow, licking her chops and looking very pleased with herself.
By then Patty was part way through another taco. Again Sasha s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d a paw out and begged for a bite. Patty gave her this I'm-not-falling-for-that-again look and held out a pinch of food in her right hand. Just as Sasha daintily scarfed it up, Patty inadvertently let her left hand sag downward with the rest of her taco in it, and Mac got it and ran off, tail wagging furiously.
Ooooh, Patty's got such a potty mouth.
