Today I just discovered that my cats have a secret catnip patch. You see years ago I planted catnip out for my cats but the little fella's completely ignored the plants. So, seeing as catnip is not the most attractive plant and as they were about to take over the garden bed, and, seeing as the cats showed no interest in them whatsoever, I rip the catnip out of the ground. Well this morning I noticed Sonic licking the ground. On closer inspection I noticed he was licking a tiny patch of catnip. At which point I also recalled that Sonic, Tink and Monty have been spending a great deal of time at that very same spot, mainly rolling about and sometimes sniffing the ground. The penny dropped, my cats have finally succumbed to the temptations of catnip. Why then did they ignore the plants that I had planted out for them? I know why, the little rascals knew that the catnips were planted especially for them and, cats being as unpredictable and stubborn as they can be, chose to ignore my efforts. However my little ones are not as intelligent as they'd like to think themselves to be. Where did this plant come from? None other than from a seed produced by one of the catnip plants that I, the mere human slave, planted out for them. So, in a roundabout sort of way I, indirectly, planted this new catnip which, I'd like to point out, the cats are relishing. Ha ha! Suckers!
That's one for the humans!
