CAT PHILES

The Furball Zone

Snoozin' Kitty

My DH had left a dark navy pullover sweater in one of our living room chairs for some reason and not long at all afterwards, our orange tabby, Omar, was to be found stretched out in slumbering bliss on top said sweater. I just attributed this to nature's law that dark clothes attract light-colored cats and was about to remove him but just could not -- he was too cute! Well, the next time I went by that chair, Oreo (our black and white kitty girl) was now on "the sweater" doing her best to add numerous white kitty hairs to Omar's orange ones, snoozin' away. I said to myself, "That's interesting," but continued on (again letting sleeping kitties lie) -- after all, Oreo just loves Omar and I figured she was attracted to his scent on the sweater.

Well, this has continued now into another day and dang if there isn't always a cat on this sweater -- it must be pretty special! I even found Shetra (our senior long-hair white boy) snorgling some "zzzzz's "into this sweater (which probably is no longer even remotely navy between all the cats' shedding right now). Tonight I remarked to Byron about his special sweater and how they must really like it or him or ???

Then our nine-year-old daughter Celeste pipes up, "Oh, it's because I put some catnip on his sweater!"

And I stupidly said, "Why did you do that?

"Oh, because I was feeling like a rascal," she blithely replied.
