CAT PHILES

A Taste of Vino

The solo games of an only cat

It's so much fun to watch Vino playing by himself sometimes. When he "hunts" his furry mouse, he will crouch down, buttwiggle and pounce on it. Then he shakes his head in order to snap it's little "neck"! Heehee, he does that with my hand sometimes too, if only he knew that my hand doesn't actually have a neck.

Anyway, if I watch his play session carefully enough, it becomes obvious that he "accidentally on purpose" loses the furry mouse during the neck snapping ritual. Then he has to get all perky-eared and bug-eyed and pounce on it again. But this time, he will swat the furry mouse away with his paw while looking in another direction. Then he pretends that that pesky mouse ran away, so he crouches, buttwiggles and pounces all over again.

I just think it's so hilarious how he purposely lets the mouse "escape" in order to be able to catch it again.
