CAT POETRY

Song Of Love

I've travelled round this whole wide world,
I've known the best of men,
I've met a lot of people I'd like to meet again,
It's not that I hate human beings,
I'm one myself, you see,
But no one I have ever met,
Has meant as much to me.

CHORUS:
Can there be something lovelier,
On earth or up above,
Than when she lays down on my lap,
And purrs her song of love.

Sometimes she stays out late at night,
With a friend she's lately met,
I worry, "Is he pedigreed,
A stray or common pet?"
I used to worry through the night,
But, I don't any more,
I know that, come the morning sun,
She'll be scratching at the door.
CHORUS

Sometimes she's much too busy when
I like to pat her fur,
I understand just how she feels,
I often feel like her.
We've got so much in common
That it makes me feel like kin,
"Besides, it makes it better,
When I finally give in.
CHORUS
