In our home there are three males and me, the lone female. Two male cats, a male human, and a female human. The two male cats are in charge of the inspection of unknown insects and spiders. From what I can see, inspection involves following insect around, glancing at it from different angles, and attempting to pick it up only to drop it again and restart the inspection.
The male human is in charge of squealing, running around, and generally being frightened/grossed out. He is also the first one to say "Ack! Spider! Kill it!" This is highly amusing, as this male human is large and one doesn't expect to hear such high pitched noises out of him.
This human female is in charge of disposal, much to her chagrin. She doesn't like spiders any more than the human male, but she keeps her head about her when she sees them, and so by default she ends up taking care of the problem.
