Earlier this evening, Tiger was busy in the kitchen playing with his new friend, a huge spider he found whilst ferreting around on the top of my kitchen cabinets. He had knocked it to the floor and was busy playing pat-a-paw with it, when Robbie walked into the kitchen.I had my back to Robbie, when I heard the familiar "hurk, hurk, gulp, HURK". I turned around, to see Robbie chuck up a hairball, right on top of the spider. All I could see, was slimy hairball and squashed spider legs.
Tiger sat there and stared at Robbie in absolute disgust. He then hissed at him, slapped Robbie across the face and marched out of the kitchen. He's still sulking about the loss of his friend.
What a way to go. I hope it was quick, after all, being slimed to death can't be pleasant - especially if the slime consists of pussy-cat stomach contents slime.
Hopefully, the spider is now at Rainbow Bridge waiting for his friend Tiger. At least, that's what I've told Tiger....

Feisty and hairy was Raknok the Spider
Who hid on the cupboard til Tiger espied her
Affectionately knocked her straight onto the floor
And played pat a paw though Raknok cried "No More"Into the kitchen leapt Robbie the Wondrous
Who chucked up a mess that looked nothing like humous
Raknok the Unfortunate died there that day
With innards all squishy and legs all asplayMortified Tiger grieved deeply and long
For Raknok the Spider, the Clever, the Strong
And Robbie the puker was soundly rebuked
Whilst poor Helen M got to clean up the puke.Copyright © Jeanette Greaves
