CAT POET'S CORNER

To Her Tabby Sister
by Lady GreyShadows, Tail-Poet

Mellow, moody feline mystery
Tabby markings trace your history.
Manner sage and visage wild,
Charmed Mohammed, Christ beguiled.

Egyptian girls with kohl-rimmed eyes
Danced with you 'neath moonlit skies,
Chains and bracelets on their arms,
Mimicking your tabby charms.

Silken, silver, amber, gold,
Furs and purrs renowned of old.
This gift to us has Bastet sent
Whose "M" proclaims, Magnificent!
