Territory Marking for Beginners

Falstaff is learning the joys of outdoor bathrooms for cats - basically go wherever you happen to be when the need arises.

He was observed yesterday progressing towards marking his territory, by spraying on walls, however, things didn't go quite to plan. Falstaff first chooses his spot, and digs a little hole (just like using a litter tray). He then turns round and attempts to aim at the hole. This is where it all went wrong for him. Instead of filling the hole, he managed to pee all over the wall that was behind him. When finished, he turns and peers into the hole - the expression on his face turning quizzical, as he can't find the pee. He's thinking "I'm sure I peed in this hole, and pee doesn't just vanish, so where'd it go?". As he's thinking, his gaze slowly moves upwards until he spots the wall, then he jumps back in shock, having spotted the pee on the wall.

I think that as the fellas approach their first birthday (unfortunate date - 11th September), they are starting to turn from kittens into proper grown-up cats. The problem is, no-one's told Falstaff that grown-up cats are allowed to pee on walls to mark their territory.

P.S. Shylock can't understand why the gravel in the neighbours garden doesn't clump like the litter in the indoor bathroom.
