CAT PHILES

Little Bit and Sammy

The Monster

It's happened again. Our human, Steve, collected all my toys (which I've gone to so much effort to hide around the apartment) and put them in what he calls my toy box.

Then out comes the green monster. Steve pulls its tail out and sticks it in the wall and it lets out a roar. Steve tries to take it for a walk, but the monster just roars and goes back and forth across the soft ground in the apartment. Now I'm glad Steve has hidden my toys in the box, because the monster is sucking up everything on the ground.

The monster never scares Momma Little Bit. Mom just lays there and watches it pace back and forth. Sometimes she doesn't even move when it gets close. When that happens Steve makes it stop roaring and picks up momma and carries her into the other room so it can't get her. She usually just comes back in and watches from the side of the room where the monster has already eaten everything on the floor.

But the monster scares me - it roars and eats all the loose stuff on the ground. Mom says that it's can't get me, but I've noticed on Steve always holds on to it as it paces across the floor. So, I'm worried that it might get away from him. Steve carries me in the other room like he does Momma, but I know it's better to keep my eyes on it. You see sometimes the monster stops roaring - I worry that it may be sneaking up on me. It can't jump, so I'll stay up on the table or the back of the couch and a close watch.

Good news, Steve's given up trying to walk the monster and is putting it back in its corner. I guess it's time for me to go to work now. I've got to spread my toys around, since you should always have a toy close by no matter where you are in the apartment.
