Things are coming around to spring here in Canada; the tumbleweeds of cat hair on the floor in my apartment after I had vacuumed the day before; the half a cat taken away from Cleo in a hair brush. Spring is on the way.So, they in kittydom are also a bit more lively, with more daylight hours to frolic in.
For example, Tippy has taken my reading glasses. I know I left them on the night table. They went missing Sunday night. I have looked everywhere for them. They will turn up when he chooses to return them to me, typically on the middle of the kitchen floor. That's where Tippy returns things he takes from me... The "boy" (I would like to use a stronger word that starts with "B") has hidden them, where I know not. I have looked everywhere for them, under everything...
You know I still greet him with all my love. He loves me with all his heart; and he has already stolen my heart, so if he desires to steal my glasses, I understand. I just don't understand how he carries things away. Where he hides things.
I read without glasses (I can). Or just use my Driving/Flying glasses.
But here is the good chuckle. Bella and Tippy are so happy in their home that they chase each other. High speeds, I mean 10 mph almost. 8 mph at least.
Centre stage:
Bella chasing Tippy flat out in the living room.
Tippy jumped into the cat tree, too late for Bella, going much faster, overtaking her brother; she does not make it, and locks on the brakes (stops her feet... claws out) on my polished wood floor.
Well, as with cars and planes, (and Cats) I think you know what happened ... You speed up, or maintain the same speed when you skid..
She was moving...
My...My...
*CRASH!*
Bella did a spectacular F1 type crash into my left end Coffee table, A yowl (oh no!) just before impact.
*Crash!*
I saw her sail by, and actually was bemused by my brightest cat's predicament, but knew she was going to hit hard...
She did.
I thought it would be nothing, until the whole table overturned and the ceramic lamp flashed out in sparks, and a bad smell followed.
Guess who bounded away without a scratch.
Guess who had to look after the mess?
I'm proud of her, she is secure here, she can live on the edge, so important for cats.
The lamp did not break, a miracle. She bounded away with that "Hey I knew that!"
Yeah right.
I saw her crash, and heard the thump. But at barely seven pounds I know she will barely bruise.
Cats may not live anywhere near as long as humans, but their ability to heal is phenomenal. I'm sure Bella is hurt, because I felt the impact just sitting on my couch.
Just another day in paradise.
