Time to Wake Up

Since Layla came home, it has been her job to wake me up every morning. She has been so consistent that I really have no more use for an alarm clock. Especially when you consider that I used to prefer to set my alarm later than Layla's alarm. We were all up late Saturday night and I was only mildly surprised when Layla did not wake me up on Sunday morning. I woke with Layla right by my side and Dude playing around. Dude will sleep on the bed a lot, but when I am sleeping there he usually chooses to sleep elsewhere and visit frequently. Conversely, the moment I kill the lights, Layla claims her space on the bed.

Monday morning comes around after a later than usual Sunday night and once again my alarm clock awakens me with Layla by my side. Waking to BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP simply does not compare to Layla's waking kisses. Surprisingly, Dude was in the bed with us sleeping as well.

Tuesday morning rolls around and I fear a new trend has started. Today was Dude's turn to wake me up. Problem is, Dude prefers the "Wake By Kitty Power Paw Punch" over the "Wake By Kiss" method that Layla employs. When the first waking blow narrowly missed my groin I simply thought I had been stepped on. The successive blows to my stomach and then my head proved otherwise.

Thus it stands to reason that the carefully coordinated morning ritual in the Kingdom of Dude and Layla has been altered. Personally, I don't have a preference regarding who wakes me... but being kissed beats getting punched any day of the week and twice on Tuesdays!
