I lost Mousse this week. He was my first cat in life and was the dream of my youth!
As most felines dying of a natural cause, he was taken by renal failure, after an episode of hyperthyroidism taken on time and fixed properly. He was 15½ years old. I mean: 15½ years of mutual happiness.
He was my first cat. He got a sister but than I began a breeding program of Abyssinians and Somalis. So he accepted the situation of not only a multi-cat house, but a breeding program. He adopted all the kittens when Mom finished motherhood period at 12 weeks, teaching them good manners in a house. When I stopped breeding, I had six adult purebreds and they are still with me!
Would a child need to get used to pets he accepted to be petted for a whole hour. He also loved music. He was the one to feel when I had any discomfort and would jump very slowly and lie on my side to help me. When he became sick, he accepted all his treatment, laying when he saw me preparing his fluids for perfusion.
He is CCA and CFA Champion and TICA Quadruple Grand Master. I miss him!
