I wrote the following poem in memory of my beautiful 18-year-old Norwegian Forest Cat "PATRICIA", who died in December 2002, after a brave battle with kidney failure. If she could have spoken, I feel she would have said the following, and thanked me for all the joyous years we had together, and that she would miss me as much as I grieve for her.

"Thank you for the care you gave,
my fragile life you tried to save.

Now I run and play on soft green lawn
with barefoot children who have also gone.

So many here to welcome me!
I'm well and strong, my spirit free.

It was my time, I had to go,
Just remember that I loved you so"
