Miss Josie

Miss Josie passed away peacefully at home in 2006. She lived to a ripe old age of 15 despite health problems during the last 5 years. She was dearly loved and a good cat and member of the family.

Marco

For Marco who passed away on January 5, 2006, aged 14 years and 8 months.

A male Siamese lilac tabby with a heart of gold. A very physical cat, always rubbing your ankles, sitting on your knee or howling at the fridge for treats. Kidney failure took you form our lives but not from our hearts. You leave being a grieving mum and dad. Your chocolate point Siamese sister has yet to realise her loss but we'll do our best to fill the gap that you've left in her life too. There's a Marco shaped hole in my heart and my life. I will never forget you.

Joan Irons, your ever-loving mum

Tim & Danny

Tim, my beautiful gentle black cat, went to Rainbow Bridge on 31st May 2000, aged 12 years.

Danny, big ginger and white boy, went to Rainbow Bridge on 27th July 2000, aged 11 years.

You both had such a loving home and were so happy with your human, canine and feline family. It was especially hard losing you both so close together. You are in my thoughts and loved and missed so very much, Tim and Danny. You will never be forgotten.

Bengie & Mike

I have had a whole group of cats over a period of time, and I would like to submit a poem to the past cats who I have loved and missed, it is going back to many years ago, when feral cats roamed the area where we lived in Devon, I sold some of the kittens and gave the money to the Cats Protection League.

My two boy cats Bengie and Mike
Who lived on my family's caravan site.
They were my pets so dear,
Oh how I wish that they were still here.
Ferals that became tame,
And their kittens were just the same,
Bengie's girlfriend Anne-Moore,
Who was always at our back door.
Now many years have passed since then,
And I still have a cat related to them,
From years ago, she still keeps their memories aglow.
She is now the only one left,
And still lives with that same family as their pet.
Oh Muffin stay with me,
Without you how sad and lonely life would be.

Ickus

This is for my 3 year old Ickus who thought all cars should and would go around him because he was so handsome. He had no idea that rain was so slippery and the car wouldn't "hold" when the brakes were hit. Sadly missed by Donna & Lisa.

Four Angels

I have four fur babies that crossed the Rainbow Bridge:

T.C. taught me about how wonderful cats are;

Tigger taught me how to let down my defenses and let things touch my heart;

Kelly, well, he just adored me for no reason. I was not going to get attached to him and his littermate, Dustin, because I had hurt too much over losing Tigger. But, Kelly moved right in on my lap and stared adoringly into my eyes every time I sat down. Darn him, he left me when he was only six years old, but he was an angel just full of love;

Then, Dustin - he was a very special kitty. He taught me things about myself - that I had gifts to heal in certain ways. He let me nurture him, but he preferred to sit with my husband rather than with me. We suffered losses together; first his littermate, Kelly. Then, my husband. Dusty and I were soulmates. But, when my husband passed, Dusty followed him ten months later.

When God made kitties, I think He took love and wrapped it in fur and purrs. Given the grace of an angel; sprinkled with wisdom; spiced with mystery - He called it - Cat.

Oreo

My cat Oreo died in late June. She was cocking her head, looking adorable, but she started to walk around all the time like that. That's when we got worried. My aunt and I took her to the vet and found out that she had a tumour in her ear canal. She was going to die in a couple weeks, the vet said. However, he suggested we take her back home.

Oreo started to lose her balance. She wouldn't eat, or run over to me meowing like she always did. She started to get a vacant look in her eye. She accepted petting without pleasure.

One day, her coat was very shiny and she smelled good. She purred a little when I petted her and I thought she was going to recover. The next day, she didn't come back. Nor the next day. I knew she was gone. I wish I could have been there for her when she died. Was she suffering? Does she miss me?

Maybe if she was a house cat I would've dealt with it better. She was a stray we found a year ago. The rest of the cats were sad. I miss Oreo.
