The kittens are so helpful with the washing and yes, I make sure they don't get accidentally washed in the washing machine. They drive me mad, springing on this and that and having an occasional gallop up my leg. When I bend over to pick up clothes Bonnie always leaps on my back. This morning I arrived in the wash-house to find that they had learned to leap up on the lid of the top loading machine and they were merrily springing around in two large concrete tubs by the machine. The outlet to the washing machine is a thick rubber hose which drains the water with a roaring rush, from the machine into one of the tubs. As I arrived the washing machine turned itself onto water expel, and a large spurt of water swept into the tub onto two rolling, cavorting kitties. They must have thought, like chicken lickin, that the sky was falling in and a wet sky to boot. It's not often I get one over on them but I have never seen wet kitties rocket out of a tub so fast.
They still haven't worked it out and spent a lot of time shaking themselves and yowling.
