CAT PHILES

The Furball Zone

Waking Up Meowmie

Now that the days are getting longer, my four masters are cruelly insisting that I get up even earlier to feed them! They used to let me sleep till my alarm (6:15AM) but now (sigh) they start around 5:00AM and work together to ensure that all thoughts of rest till the alarm goes off are but a distant memory.

First, my old kitty, Shetra starts the "gagging on a hairball" routine -- I get up and move him to the bathroom bit; then crawl back in bed. Next, Omar, the clumsy boy, jumps up on my nightstand landing perilously close to my glasses; I rescue my glasses and try to turn over. No luck, he then sits on my alarm clock and the clock radio starts playing -- move Omar, turn off radio, turn over again. This scenario repeats several times. Midnight jumps on the bed and starts headbutting me and purring. The last straw came when I heard a thump and looked up and saw little Oreo gazing down at me from atop the bed's headboard, right above my head and her looking doubtful about where to jump down.

Oh well, what can I say, at least I have more time to read on the newsgroup before getting the kids up for school...
